New Years

Hey guys, so it's New Years Eve and I'm super excited for the oncoming events. I wanted to go over a few things I plan doing over the next year, or next couple months depending on how lazy or productive I am.

First - Recap. Last year held a lot of importance to GoldenTotProductions as a channel for entertainment. It went from animation style to animation style, and even became a career. For those who haven't been around too long, here's what I'm talking about. GoldenTotProductions started out as a sprite animation channel based on the popular MMORPG Maple Story. From the start to the end, it built up a pretty good sized fan base. Well, in the long run I wanted my animations to take me somewhere. I was sick of using someone else's work and not being able to be 100% original, so I dropped sprites. Mid 2010, GoldenTotProductions was no longer known as a sprite animation channel, but moved onto drawn animations. This mostly consists of stick animated comedies, but there are a few that are more detailed.

Soon after moving onto stick figures, I was contacted by YouTube to sign up for the partnership program. For those who don't know what partnership is, it's when you agree to have Google advertise on your movies in turn for a % of that income, as well as promotion. You know those ads when you view someone's video, or website that are by Google? Well, when those ads are clicked or viewed, the owner of the content makes money. That's how GoldenTotProductions is literally my job, now. In terms of promotion, your videos are pulled up closer to the top of searches, and even have a chance to appear on the front page of YouTube. You also get the availability to brand your channel to be unique, such as with a banner like on my page.

Well, now that I've gone over all that, I'll tell you what I have planned! As I've been talking about a lot lately, I did order a tablet. It will be here on Monday (Delivery keeps getting postponed, ffff), and I've never been more excited! This will be a huge step in my animation career. This will allow me to move on from the less detailed world of stick figure animation, toward the amazingly detailed and complex world of full body animation. This means instead of stick people doing funny stuff, they will be more like.. I guess I wanna say Egoraptor, since he's my main inspiration LOL.

Well. Yea. Once all is said and practiced, I want to get into a lot more animating. I want to do a lot more comedies, and even start a series with a nice plot and such.

That's really it. What to start the new year off with..? How about a new Kilplix's Comments! Haven't seen one of those in a while, eh? c:

New set up with HORRIBLE pictures!

So as I stated a couple blogs ago, I ordered a new desk. Well, it came, and I built it. Alone. It took about 4 hours, and I couldn't sleep last night because my hands and forearms were so sore LOL.

I'm very happy with it, and I took a few VERY low quality pictures of it. I need a new camera. This is taken with my mom's crappy cell.

In this picture above, it's a front view of my desk. You can see my couch too, I have that pulled up to it, sitting back as I'm on the computer. This is because my chair hasn't come in yet. Super comfy, yo. 

In this one, it's the view as if you were sitting in front of it. I have dual screen monitors, that barely fit. The 2nd monitor is an old bulky one, I'm going to replace it with another 23". You can also see my subwoofer below it olol.

This is the very dark under part of my desk where my speaker system is set up, along with my tower.

And that's basically it. My chair should be here today, and I'll be cleaning the hell out of my room. :'D

Tablet on it's way!

Okay. Finally did it. I ordered a tablet! I've already stated it, but this is a pretty big thing for GoldenTotProductions as an animated entertainer. Basically, every animation you've seen me do is drawn with a mouse, and poorly at that. Well, no longer! My animations will now look amazing! Super exciting, right?

If you don't know what a tablet is, it's an input device you plug into your computer known as an "electronic notepad". You're given a pen, and a pad, and what you do on it is draw! Whatever you draw on the tablet, shows up in whatever art program you have open on your computer. It can also be used as an alternative mouse, but it's primary use is art.

With this, there is a 90% chance I'll move from stick figures to full body comedies, and maybe a series of some sort.

My birthday comes to a close.

Welp, 20 minutes left here on the east coast of my birthday. It was a pretty good one!

Basically all I did was Livestream vidya games and chat with my birthday buddy Dollia (It's her birthday, too xD) but it was generally a good day. Grams (my grandma) stopped by and dropped off my Christmas/Birthday gifts from her and Dad. She overworked herself this year so she didn't go shopping, she just gave everyone money, and that's fine with me!

I actually just woke up from a little long nap, so yaaay. One thing I'm happy about is finally paying Pepsi back for Black Ops. I feel bad for paying him back so late, but I only get payed once a month so poo!

Whelp. I'm 20 now. I'mma go be old and stuff. Bye!

Christmas!

So, on the east coast it's CHRISTMAS! You know what that means? MOTHER FUCKING EGG NOG ALCHOHOL DRINKS.


Well, maybe not so much, but presents and family gatherings! Also, I TURN 20 TOMORROW! :DDDD

Today I'm going to spend Christmas at my grandma's house. Dinner will be an annual dosage of BBQ, and we will sit at the fireplace watching Christmas specials on TV while opening presents.

I ordered her an Elvis Presley CD for Christmas, like she wanted. Top 31 hits! It was pretty cheap on Amazon C:. Also, my mom's christmas gift is me paying the electric bill for her LOL.

Also, I got carried away with my spendings and bought myself a new computer desk and chair. Also A TABLET! Fiiinallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Super excited. :)))))))

[Maple] Battle Mage / Wild Hunter

Warning - This is partially a rage filled blog.

Okay so the new "Resistance" line up of classes game out. Currently we are able to play Battle Mages and Wild Hunters. In January, Mechanics will be released.

Think about this before you make one - Do you want to get KS'd like fuck, or KS other people like fuck?

Yea, that's how the resistance work. I chose a Battle Mage since I was never a fan of archer classes in any game I've played, and here's how it works. You find a map to train in, level up, have some fun, and then a Wild Hunter comes in and starts KSing the shit out of you for no reason. You ask them politely to CC, they either ignore or flame you. Okay whatever, find a new channel. You do! Just so happens the very next channel is empty. 5 minutes into your new channel, a Wild Hunter comes in and begins to KS the fuck out of you again. This goes on and on and on.

If you ever see a Wild Hunter train, they almost never bother KSing other Wild Hunters, but as soon as they see a Battle Mage, they go all out on them. I don't know what the obsession with making others want to quit a game due to the community is, but it seems almost every KSer I've ever encountered is fucking foreign. No offense to you foreigners who actually play the game fairly and along with other people, but what the FUCK.

Final Fantasy MMO addictionssss.

So the other day I'd gotten Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection on sale, figured why not? First month is free with the purchase. Funny thing is, it's on sale for $5 today, when it was on sale for $10 yesterday. Oh well.

Anyway, I know all the Final Fantasy and Square Enix generall MMORPGs have gotten pretty bad reviews in the past but I'm actually enjoying FFXI. It's not much, but it's definitely a time killer. I looked up FF XIV and the monthly fee is the same, and it's a newer version. Graphics, gameplay, and so on. From what I see the battle system is basically identical to FFXI, but the main flaw with me playing FFXI 5 years after the release is that no one plays it anymore. What I'm gonna do when I get payed and gather Christmas / Birthday monies I'm gonna get Final Fantasy XIV and play that for a while.

One thing I'd like to say about my YouTube channel, and regarding me not really uploading anything lately. It's basically because I've been enjoying my free time, spending it towards gaming mostly. Most of my PC life was spent doing boring things like browsing and animating because my computer was never that great, and now that I can game I guess I'm trying to make up for lost time haha.

Well, tomorrow (being whenever I wake up), I'm going to start on a new Q&A. What I'm going to do with these from now on is select 5 questions from the comments and answer them. Why only 5? Because I want to incorporate actual animation and entertainment in them, rather than a still image while I ramble on. The Q&A will become a series and in the long run hopefully give people a lot of insight toward me and a lot of entertainment.

My birthday is coming up! Along with my friend Dollia's. Our birthday is on the same day 8D

December 26th! I'll be turning 20 and she'll be turning 17. I'm so upset I won't be a teenager anymore ;_;..

Maple rage

Well, as those who've played, you know the new patch changed a LOT. Well, for the most part I love it, but there's one downside.


From level 90 to 120, you can't freaking train. They limited the good EXP to a single map, and EVERYONE in the entire game swarms it. I'm going to play a lot less until Nexon's done something about this, from what I hear it'll soon be changed again.

Bluh, yea.

LUL MapleStory

Yup. I'm playing again. As always (if you've kept up with me since I played Maple), I'm in Broa.

The new patch is super cool. The entire game has changed and it's SOOO easy to level now. If I wasn't lazy and kept getting sidetracked I'd be 50 by now, and I just started the character a day ago. <:

Well yea for the most part. I just got the last of my stuff that I ordered.

After installing everything I anxiously loaded up L4D2 and pumped everything on highest possible settings (Except V-Sync of course), and was running at an average of 120 FPS. I'm stoked, dood. I can finally stream and play games normally!

Yay for more new computer stuffs!

So, as a lot of you know I'd ordered and built a new computer recently. Well, due to lack of super monies, I couldn't finish it so I went with the bare essentials. Well I just got payed and am finishing it for the most part! Just spent another $400, heh. x_x

Anyway.. This is what I've just ordered -

• ATI Radeon HD 6850 1GB Graphics Card. It's a new model and runs shit like YEEEEE.
• 4GBs of RAM. This will add on to the 2GBs I already have, it'll help for running my Minecraft server and generally just running stuff, looking forward to it.
• 23" eMachines Widescreen Display. Sure, eMachines is a pretty crappy brand name, but it's a 23" monitor for $120 bucks. I couldn't pass it up.

And that's it! Everything is yet again, bought from Newegg.com.

Hi! In case you weren't aware, today is Thanksgiving! I'm here to wish you a happy one, and also say thanks for the support.

Today I hit 19,000 subscribers on YouTube and I'm very happy about it. I can't really make much special for you guys because of it, but I will when it hits 20k! ;D

Uhmm.. I don't really know what else to say. What are you guys doing or what did you do for Thanksgiving? I was originally going out to eat with the family, but my mother has become very sick over the last week and we have to reschedule. Wish her well!

So hi! It's currently the 22nd, and I get payed in 3 days! As soon as I can payed I'll be.. taking care of the internet bill... BUT THEN I'll be ordering my new computer parts! If you'd like to know what parts I'll be ordering, click here.

Anyway, I'm REALLY excited to finally have a good computer for once. All my life I've been using really low tier models and crappy built ones with old ass single core CPUs and AGP video slots. This one will be really up to date, and will run all the games I want without hassle! This means I'll be uploading a lot more videos to my Steam channel, Steamytots! These games will probably include L4D, L4D2, Borderlands, Bad Company 2, and whatever other good multiplayer games me and my friends can make entertaining.

Regarding stick movies!


With my time off, I've been able to come up with a lot of nifty ideas! As I've stated before, I already have the Q&A answers recorded, it's just that this computer can't run any decent video editors. Once I get the new rig setup, I'll be able to use Sony Vegas again and will have the Q&A up as soon as possible.

Other than that, I have a couple actual comedies thought up! One I'll share with you is called "Shotgun". Yes it has to do with calling shotgun in a car, and yes it has to do with actual shotguns.

Reoccurring dream

Okay so last night I had trouble sleeping. In fact I just woke up and wanted to write about this while it was still fresh in my head, because I'm sorta tripping out. This is a weird blog entry, but bare with me. :P

Anyway, last night I had a reoccurring dream. I woke up a bunch of times throughout the night, but every time I fell back asleep the dream started over and happened again. In this dream, the following events happened that I could remember.

1 - The dream started, I was in a wooden house. The room I was in had a computer set up on a desk with no one on it, yet it was acting as if someone was working on it. Keys being pressed, mouse moving and clicking, and so on. I ignored it and walked around throughout the house.

2 - Next thing I know I'm in what seems to be a cramped dorm room with 3 other people. I actually knew one of the people in the dream, her name was Maggie, she's a friend of mine. She acted as sarcastic as she really does. One other girl was supposed to be her sister or something, then one dude I can't remember at all. The dorm room had snack machines, and we all kept trying to throw quarters into the slots like idiots.

3 - Next, we're all on a bus. Going on some field trip I think. Weird thing is we're not on a road, we're on the train tracks. The bus followed them as if that's what buses were supposed to travel on. This is the part of the dream I woke up on every single time, but just a bit ago as I was having the dream, it went on a little further. The bus was going pretty quick, and there were 3 sets of train tracks. For some reason, the other two had broken spots and gaps all around them, so you can imagine we of course ran into one. The bus driver only tried to slow down at the last second, and we plummeted into a lake. As we sank into the lake, there were other buses down there too. When we hit the bottom I woke up.

The weirdest thing about these dreams is during them, I knew they were a dream every time. I was aware that it was happening over and over.

There's really nothing to this, I just thought it was sort of interesting and wanted to share. See ya! :B

Old comp fried, but alas, a new rig awaits!

Okay so yea. The motherboard in my computer died out, I'll assume it's because I'm a dumb ass and leave the case open at all times because I LOOOOOOST it. Well, because of that I put my video card and a little RAM into my mom's computer and am sharing it with her. It's crap. I hate it.

Well, all bad things aside, my next pay is going to be around $450 or so. With this I'll be building a bit of a new rig and am very excited to do so. I haven't ever owned a good computer, so this is pretty awesome.

Here are the parts I have picked out.

• ASUS Motherboard. Two PCI 2.0 x16 slots, four 240-Pin RAM slots.
• AMD Phenom CPU. 3.4GHz quad core.

          (Mobo/CPU combo - $250)

• 4GBs of DDR3 RAM. - $75
• 1GIG ATI SAPPHIRE gfx card thingy. $55

I'm psyched I found all this for how cheap it is. I'll be salvaging my old HDD, power supply, and etc from older computers for a bit, until I can upgrade those too.

All parts will be ordered from Newegg.com - Mostly for reliability and 3 day delivery. Also cheap as hell prices.

For now I can barely even play L4D, or animate without freezing up. Hopefully I can keep uploading YouTube videos and stuff. :C

I'll be playing with my usual crew, but unfortunately Mr.CD won't be online that day. Oh well, we'll be recording it for him! With that being said, Louis dies. End of story.

Workin' on the website~

Just kickin' back and working a bit more with my website. I've read through most of "John Wiley & Sons - HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible, 3rd Edition". It's a really nice book, and I've learned a ton. Check it out if you get the time.

Anyway, got the basic layout done, still prolly going to make some renovations and such.

Animate with Tate 3

Alright, anyway.. I was uploading a .rar of Vindictus for JJ because her setup would crash her computer, so being that my internet was being sapped hardcore I needed something to do without internet. Since I hadn't uploaded anything to YouTube in a few days, I figured I'd do a quick Animate with Tate session. I know a lot of my viewers are probably wanting something a bit more entertaining, so my next movie will be a Kilplix's Comments, promise.

Anyway, I was trying to practice weapon usage in this one. As you can see there wasn't a lot of it, just some movement coordination. Chances are I'll do a longer one with actual fighting to practice a bit more intensely, so hopefully you guys enjoy watching that as well.

Couple more things. A lot of people ask me what I use to animate. In this movie you can see in the top left corner "Animated with Macromedia Flash 8". That's what I use for all my animating, sprite and stick. Also, a lot of people have been asking me to do flash tutorials.. I don't really know how to do tutorials, rather than I am good with hands on helping. I've put a poll up to the right, and you can vote if you'd like to see tutorials tried to be done by me. I'm not sure sure what I could go over in a tutorial, but I will try my best. Any suggestions on tutorial topics? Post them here.

The recent poll asked if you guys would actually buy shirts if I made them. A lot of you voted you would, so I'm going to make a video with example shirts. Look for that in the future.

Addicted to Vindictus.

Okay so, as a lot of you know, "Early Beta" came up for Vindictus and I'm freaking addicted.

Been playing for two days straight, not counting when it goes down for server checks. Level 17, about to hit 18, and having a blast. It's got to be the best MMO to come out in a long time.

Okay so as a lot of you know, I started out animating using Maple Story sprites. Well, back then I'd made a community forum for anyone and everyone interested in MapleStory sprite animation. Basically, it got kinda big and for a year it's been only a forum.

Animate with Tate! New recording series.

A lot of people have asked in the past for me to do animation tutorials with stick figures. Well, to be honest I'm no where near talented enough to actually give advice properly, so I've decided to simply record myself animating and post a result. This will continue to be a series over time for however long I continue to practice and improve. I'm really hoping it leads toward helping new animators as well!

That's right! Either early this morning or late last night, I hit 17,000 subscribers on YouTube!

I just wanted to say thanks for all the support. I love doing what I do, and I love the feedback even more. With that said, I'll announce my next two movies here.

As you can see to the side, I'd opened a poll asking what you guys wanted to see more. You guys voted and obviously want more original comedies and Kilplix's Comments. Well, they came close so.. I'm going to do both! My next comedy skit will be about excessive weeaboos. If you don't know what a weeaboo is, it's basically an over the top otaku. If you don't know what an otaku is, Google it.

Then in line will be a new Kilplix's Comments. I promise not to hold back in this one like I did in Kilplix's Comments 2, i.e. crappy yelling.

Okay so I know a lot of people have different views on people who have a vocabulary full of curse words, and I respect each of those views.

Yes, some people only curse because they can't think of any better words to say. No, not all people curse because of their lack of intelligence. I myself was raised around people who cursed a lot, yet I am growing success using my knowledge of the internet and animation to slowly build up a living.

Basically, I want to get to the point where I no longer curse at all. One of my inspirations for this is someone a lot of you know if you watch my videos, Kilplix. You can watch through nearly ever one of his videos, and never hear him curse once, yet still remains extremely popular. I respect him a lot for that. I know a lot of kids these days look at videos and think excessive cursing is hilarious, and sometimes it is, but it shouldn't be the only thing that makes a video funny.

I'd like to rid myself of foul language and become one of the examples of comedy without cursing. No, this doesn't mean my future videos will be completely rid of curse words, it's mainly for me in real life. Videos such as Kilplix's Comments, I will not censor myself. All comments are read word for word. Also, my original comedies will still have a little cursing in them, but I need to keep it to a minimum. If you've seen Rock Paper Stick, you know it's censored on YouTube, this is because it was declined for revenue sharing because of the foul language. I suppose that means it's a move for myself as well as my career.

Anyway, I got this idea from an episode of Scooby Doo I'd recently seen on TV. Velma is trying to change Shaggy into a more proper person by changing his attire as well as his speech. She'd given him a rubber band to put around his wrist, and every time he said the word "like", he'd have to pull the rubber band back and snap it against his wrist as punishment. That's basically what I'm going to do every time I curse. Shouldn't be too hard, I'll just substitute words like "shit" for "crap", and so on.

Welp, wish me luck I guess. I'll update later on next week with how it's going I suppose.

So a lot of people loved the first one, and asked for me, so I'm delivering. As stated before, I really like doing short casual animations like this one. It only took about half a day to animate this, where as in my serious animations it takes a few days at least (considering I do take a lot of breaks and procrastinate, haha).

Well, anyway. I didn't quite yell as loud in this one during the caps spam due to the fact it was recorded somewhat late, and I didn't want to disturb anyone in the apartment building I live in. I thought about re-recording it but come oooooon. Next time, and the times ahead, I'll definitely be sure to record in the day time when I'm sure I won't disturb anyone. I hate the loss of entertainment value just as much as you guys.

I'm getting a little more creative with facial expressions. Using a different mouse than I'd used for all my other animations, hopefully soon I'll have a tablet in possession. These are always good fun, and great expression practice. If anyone's trying to get better with goofy stuff like this, I highly suggest doing stupid little shorts as well! I'll stop carrying this paragraph on, now.

I really wanted to make this longer, but due to the fact only a few actions for each character were released, I was unable to make a full length fight. Scott Pilgrim vs The World

So yea, I saw it the other night. Definitely want to see it again. If anyone's wondering if it's worth seeing in theaters, I'm definitely suggesting you do.

It's basically a video game themed comedy action romance movie. A while back when the preview first came out, I saw Michael Cera and immediately thought to myself "Oh great, another awkward romance", as soon as the trailer hit the action I immediately choked on my words.

The fights are all very cinematic and just plain eye candy. I'm almost thinking of using the sprites from the video game and making a short animation for fun.

All in all, go see it if you're a nerd.
